Canopies and awnings in my book are different. Whereas an awning is made out of cloth a canopy is made out of vinyl/PVC and is usually back lit.

Because the materials are different than cloth awnings there is a different method of cleaning them. With vinyl, it is of the utmost importance that you clean the winter’s mess off the awning before it gets baked in the plastic.

Remember it is better to do many light cleanings than a heavy cleaning which can prematurely wear your awning or canopy.
